ABOUT ME

I was born in Milano in the same year when punk was born. I grow up among vynil and books, tapes and bootlegs. Photography has been  my passion since when i was a teenage, experimenting dark room in the basement of my parents.

I graduated in Architecture at Politecnico with Beppe Finessi and attended the Italian Institute of Photography with Roberto Mutti.

The city and its methamorphosy, suburbs and peripheries, borders and subcultures have always been at the center of my personal research.

Hidden architectures, precarious spaces, industrial buildings, dismissed areas are the subjects of my photographies but also the field of my activities: since 2005 I have been organizing artistic events and exhibitions in unconventional places, like the two big happenings in abandoned industries in Milano:     Where is 101 and Where is 107.

My photos about Berlin Gentrification were painted by Andrea Chiesi (Modena, 1966) and we started a collaboration, giving life to the exhibition " Perpetuum Mobile" ( Berlin 2011)

"Invisible Cities" is a digital composition project who gives life to imaginary urban views, fragments of Metropolis hanging in the balance between Past and Future, in an apocalyptic age where the ruins of Future are stratified on the rubbles of Past, in a crescendo of derelict buildings with no more human presence.

In early 2009  I moved to Berlin, where I founded the artistic space:  XLAB Corrosive Art Farm. that in 4 years of intence activity hosted hundred of international creatives in all artistic disciplines .

I also curated a collective exhibition “ The Corrosive Container “ that took place in Berlin, Milano, Paris and Barcelona and partecipated for 3 years to STROKE Urban Art Fair Berlin

In 2012 I founded the project "Ende Neu" in collaboration with Fabio Giampietro, Vins Grosso and Alberto Ponticelli: a reflection on Metropolis in the Third Millennium, inspired to Huxley´s visions, old cyberpunk movies and industrial noise.

In 2013 i opened in Berlin the Kunst Kabinet 451, a little gallery and bookshop dedicated to d.i.y. press, fanzines, comics, screenprints, dark art publications.

I works as freelance photographer, photo editing and art curator of events and exhibitions .

In more than 15 years of activity my collaborations are too many to be elencated in this website: i have organized several solo shows and collective exhibitions, events and happening, in Italy and Europe.

I worked as photographer with the most important italian underground street artists, painters and performers, my photos have been published in magazines, catalogues, books and flyers and exhibited in art galleries and festival in Italy and Europe.

I self published also books, catalogues , fanzines and magazines with 451 press.

My last self-publication is my book Seele Breent: Berlino L´Anima Brucia: a collection of a decade of photos about Berlin, with a reflection on gentrification process and conservation of places through forms of political and social resistance.

I believe in the power of the imagination to remake the world, to release the truth within us, to hold back the night, to transcend death, to charm motorways, to ingratiate ourselves with birds, to enlist the confidences of madmen.

I believe in my own obsessions, in the beauty of the car crash, in the peace of the submerged forest, in the excitements of the deserted holiday beach, in the elegance of automobile graveyards, in the mystery of multi-storey car parks, in the poetry of abandoned hotels.

I believe in the death of tomorrow, in the exhaustion of time

I believe in madness, in the truth of the inexplicable, in the common sense of stones, in the lunacy of flowers,

I believe in the non-existence of the past, in the death of the future,  and the infinite possibilities of the present.

I believe in the next five minutes.

I believe in migraines, the boredom of afternoons, the fear of calendars , the treachery of clocks.

I believe in anxiety, psychosis and despair.

     I believe in pain.

     I believe in despair.

     I believe in all children.

     I believe all excuses.

     I believe all reasons.

     I believe all hallucinations.

     I believe all anger.

I believe all mythologies, memories, lies, fantasies, evasions.

I believe in the mystery and melancholy of a hand, in the kindness of trees, in the wisdom of light."
